Fuad El-Hibri founded the biopharmaceutical company Emergent BioSolutions Inc. in 1998, and he continues to serve as executive chairman of the company’s board of directors. In addition to his work with Emergent, he is also involved in a number of academic and philanthropic endeavors, including the El Hibri Foundation, the International Biomedical Research Alliance, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Fuad E-Hibri also serves on the advisory board of the Yale Healthcare Conference.
The Yale Healthcare Conference represents a collaborative project sponsored annually by the Health Professional Schools of Yale University and the Yale School of Management. Its mission is to engage scholars, professionals, and students in an insightful discussion about healthcare issues. The 2017 edition of the event is scheduled to take place on April 7, 2017, and will mark the 13th consecutive year of the conference.
The Yale Healthcare Conference also honors the recipient of the John D. Thompson Distinguished Visiting Fellow award. In 2016, the conference honored keynote speaker Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group, a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit organization representing employers and healthcare recipients in its quest to improve the quality of hospitals.
